Vai realizar-se mais um BarCamp no dia 24 de Maio de 2008, no campus da FCT UNL. Um BarCamp é um evento de entrada livre e de conteúdos livres.

Local e Hora
O BarCampFCT vai ser realizado no Departamento de Matemática, da FCT UNL, entre as 9 e as 20 horas. Está planeada a reserva de um auditório com capacidade para cerca de 270 pessoas. Será garantida tanto rede eléctrica como rede wireless para todos os participantes.

Ruby on Rails Training

A WeBreakStuff vai dar uma formação em Ruby on Rails que decorrerá nos próximos dias 19, 20 e 21 de Maio em Coimbra e está dividida em dois módulos: “Ruby e Rails: as bases” (1.º e 2.º dias) e “Tópicos avançados” (3.º dia).

Estes dois módulos podem ser adquiridos separadamente, embora o “best value” esteja em realizar o curso na totalidade.

A formação já contempla a nova versão desta framework e foram adicionados conteúdos que reﬂectem os mais recentes avanços no desenvolvimento, conﬁguração e deployment de aplicações web usando o Rails.

We just launched boutiquedorestauro.com, a brand new standards compliant website for Boutique do Restauro to replace the old version.
Boutique do Restauro is a Store and Architecture Projects Studio dedicated to the preservation, restoration, redesigning and decoration of houses interior and exterior.
Waveweb is also responsible for this company logo which was designed in 2004.
We wish them every success with their new Website! :-)

My webdesigner advice: Although gemeoluis.com is very clean and easy to navigate, in my oppinion, a website with an english version and not in flash would be more appropriate for Luís to achieve a bigger audience.

Oh god! Another Job Board?

Yes, it’ s true. This time in portuguese!

New Team Manager

Our main customer, Siemens Portugal, has a new team manager. Luis Alves our Creative Director.

Luis, has worked with us since the beginning, and he carries a lot of experience and know-how on the subject. He is also very well known by all our clients at Siemens and that makes him the best person for the job.

Apollo from Adobe Labs

Apollo alpha was recently posted on Adobe Labs for free. Apollo allows you to build applications that directly access internet technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, Flash, and AJAX, and get a load at this… without the need to open a browser. Users will be able to launch Apollo applications from their desktops and interact with them online or offline. Lynda.com has made this training free for everyone! You can check it out at:

Apple is starting to sell DRM free music on iTunes. Steve Jobs has done it once again. You gotta love that guy :)
